Jaxon’s journey

When Jaxon was just 1 day old still in hospital he had his first hearing test called a “SWISH” the results were referred twice which meant we had to travel to Newcastle for a hearing test done by an audiologist, Jaxon was only 6-8 weeks old when this happened, he had to stay asleep/still for 2+ hours, I cuddled him the whole time with a million thoughts running through my mind. The results came back that Jaxon is deaf in both ears, moderate/severe loss in his left ear and severe/profound loss in his right ear. Jaxon received his first set of hearing aids when he was 3 months old and we also started seeing NextSense weekly over zoom and have been since, Jaxon has so so much support around him on a daily basis, from speech therapists to teachers of the deaf, audiologists and of course his family. Jaxon is such a bright and happy little boy he’s so smart and also has quite a cheeky side. 

I'm getting LOUD for NextSense

I’m fundraising to raise awareness and vital funds for children with hearing loss. Please help me get LOUD by donating to my page. All funds raised will assist in ensuring children with hearing loss, and their families, have access to the support they need to achieve their full potential. Jaxon has been using NextSense services since he was just 3 months old, this amazing organisation are like family to us they’ve supported both Jaxon and I through some rewarding yet challenging times, we are forever grateful.
